Created on Purpose, with Purpose

Definition of Purpose: the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
This phrase, that we are created on purpose and with purpose, is an idea that I've been thinking of posting for years now. You, my friend, are made by Creator God and have been placed on this earth at this exact moment for a purpose. THAT makes me bask in awe of my God. He knew everything before, He knows everything to come, and He put me in the middle of it all with the opportunity to have an impact for the kingdom.
You are not an accident. Before God even formed you in your mother's womb, He had a plan for you (Jeremiah 1:5). I even think back to when we found out we were having a third boy; I was convinced it was a girl and had my moments of "gender disappointment." I believe it's a normal human reaction to feel all those kinds of feelings, but it's not okay to stay in that disappointment, as my Sovereign God has shown me His faithfulness, and He will continue as He always has and always will. With that said, I remind myself when the feelings of "if only my life looked like I thought it would" come up: God has placed each of my children in this exact moment in time for a wonderful purpose.
Without Christ, our purpose is lost in the shadows. Without knowing our Creator, how are we supposed to know our true purpose? In the beginning, God created Heaven and earth and everything that is in the earth. He created man and woman in His image. We are image bearers meant to reflect the glory of God. This walk with Christ is not about religion; it's about relationship. We see that displayed with the creation of man from the beginning. God "walked" with Adam and Eve in the garden, His display as a relational God. Sin put a wedge in our relationship with God, marring our purpose and causing confusion. We were created by Him and for Him, but this world, which doesn't know Him, has no eternal purpose. We are to glorify and reflect God and make Him known.
Making God known in the everyday is stepping into where God has placed us. Wherever God has placed you, in the workplace or as a mom or wife at home, you are able to make God known and accomplish the ultimate purpose for which you were created. Making God known could be doing whatever we do well and with all our might (Colossians 3:23), teaching our kids to remember the faithfulness of God (Isaiah 38:19), or from 1 Thessalonians 5:13-18 we can encourage one another, rejoice always, pray without stopping, "giving thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God...".
Know God & Make Him Known.
God, I pray over the hearts who have taken the time to read this post today. I pray you will remind them and encourage their hearts through your Spirit that you have created them well and with a glorious purpose. We are here to know you, God, and make you known. I pray you will prompt our hearts to take a few minutes to learn more of who you are. Even if our world around us is chaos, I pray we can take on the attitude of Psalm 46:10 to be still and know that you are God. May your light shine through us today and impact those around us through kindness, through joy, through testament of your faithfulness. We aren't here to check the boxes off the checklist; we are here to pursue the relationship with you, to walk with you.
Born and raised in the darkness
Still my soul did sing
Out of a hope that brought tomorrow
Over love that covered me
In the times I've felt the farthest
Still your love did cling
Oh, by faith, my feet were grounded
Couldn't defy your gravity
You're the bones inside my body
You're the fire that fills my lungs
You're the reason I'm still standing
You're the strength to carry on
And I wanna know you like you it were Eden
Like it's only the two of us
Oh, I wanna walk among your presence
I want to feel your fullest love
Take me out from the harbor
And by your light you lead
Oh, I wanna go into your still waters
I wanna sail your silver sea
And I know this life, it gets harder
But as long as it's you and me
Oh, I wanna go in full abandon
I wanna give you everything
